I have over 25 years of financial leadership experience for private operating companies, early-stage enterprises, and Fortune 1000 public companies across a range of industries, including manufacturing and distribution, real estate development, construction and operations; health insurance; technology; and financial services. I have led or personally delivered the following:

  • Sourcing and closing mortgage and asset-backed loans to replace bank facility that were no longer in covenant compliance due to adverse industry conditions
  • A successful $150 million NYSE IPO of a nationally prominent home builder and developer followed by secondary share offerings that accomplished profitable exits for venture capital investors
  • Design and implementation of an independent finance and accounting function for Florida not-for-profit Medicaid plan that previously outsourced administrative functions
  • Raising $3 billion of public and private debt and equity for leading home builder and developer
  • SEC compliance and reporting -- including restatement of past public financial statements and filing of a Form S-1 registration statement for a planned NASDAQ IPO of a biotechnology company
  • The accounting, financial, investor relations, corporate and business development initiatives of a newly public health insurance company; improving financial planning and analysis, resolving control weaknesses and driving growth through corporate acquisitions
  • The selling process for a not-for-profit health plan -- selecting a Fortune 500 buyer and closing the deal -- resulting in a very favorable realization of value

My financial and operational experience is broad, and I enjoy helping management evaluate their business' strategic position and improving their business positioning to attain sustainable growth in earnings and cash flows. My expertise includes:

  • Development of budgets, forecasts and contingency projections
  • Accounting systems and policies, including monthly closing time reduction
  • Profit enhancement and process improvement studies
  • Debt and equity sourcing, proactive investor relations
  • Business or strategic planning and help with plan implementation
  • Conversion to GAAP compliant financial reporting (from cash or tax methods)
  • Design and implementation of internal controls that fit the company size
  • M&A support including due diligence and exit planning and preparations

I joined the Florida CFO Group in 2017 with over 25 years of experience in management and financial leadership as a CFO, CEO, strategic consultant, and controller. I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting and Economics from the University of South Florida and completed extensive course work at USF’s Graduate School of Accountancy and Harvard University’s Executive Program on Negotiation.
