I have over 25 years of financial leadership in consumer and hospitality companies, investment banking and Big-4 accounting with a strong background in technology. My extensive experience includes working with clients in high growth companies raising capital, building corporate infrastructure, deploying new technology, developing complex forecasting models and rolling out business intelligence systems. I have led or personally delivered:

  • Raising $22 million in second-round equity funding for Consul Hospitality Group and development of an enterprise dashboard financial reporting system to show actual vs. budget performance on a monthly basis
  • Raising $10 million in second-round equity funding for a private equity owned restaurant company growing at 70%+; restructuring accounting and developing a tightly integrated accounting, food and labor management reporting system that interfaced with each location
  • Restructuring of Lone Star Private Equity Fund's ($60b in assets) shared services company’s accounting, IT, HR and risk management system for four of its portfolio concepts (including Del Frisco, Sullivan’s, Lone Star Steakhouse) with total revenue over $500 million and 200 units
  • Restructuring of the accounting and IT infrastructure for Jersey Mike's Subs (500+ locations, $300 million in sales) and raising capital for developing corporate-owned stores
  • Restructuring and build-out the corporate office, accounting department and legal infrastructure of a frozen yogurt concept franchise, working with the founder and private equity partner to expand from 40 to 165+ locations in 18 months
  • Managing the selling process for a hospitality insurance company with over 1,500+ clients and $80m in revenue
  • Financial leadership of Checkers Drive-In Restaurants during turn-around from near-bankruptcy to sustained profitability with same-store sales growth of 10.0%; profitability 21% and stock price propelled over 1,000% -- from $1.25 to over $13.00
  • Preparing family-owned Fogo De Chao (an international restaurant company operating in the US and Brazil) for successful IPO; raised $70 million in a debt recapitalization through syndication of four top-tier banks

I joined the Florida CFO Group in 2018 with over 25 years of financial leadership as a chief financial officer and chief operating officer. I earned Bachelor of Science degrees in finance, accounting and information technology from Old Dominion University. I am a certified public accountant (CPA) and have held Series-7, 24 and 63 securities licenses.
