I have worked in a variety of industries and different sizes of companies, with an emphasis on real estate, construction, manufacturing, agriculture, transportation, and logistics. I have over 30 years of executive leadership experience and am very operationally driven, spending more time in the business than in the office. I enjoy working with companies of all sizes and at every stage of the business. It always starts with the people and I place my emphasis on helping companies build high performing teams with attention to recruiting, rewarding, and retaining the best individuals in a decentralized structure where everyone contributes under a flat leadership structure. I have personally led or delivered the following:

  • Capital raise solutions in creative ways to gain access to capital from multiple sources, bring significant credibility to any capital needs (from $500K to $15M single raise)
  • Mentoring at incubators, deal review due diligence, team selection and building, for start-up/scaling businesses (stand-alone or within an existing company), able to make quick and accurate business assessments in a fast-paced environment
  • Development of turnaround and restructuring action plans within days of being on the ground at any company, working with lenders, investors and unsecured creditors to form “win-win” solutions
  • Negotiating PE and VC as an advisor to startups seeking capital, coming into PE deals gone bad, raising additional capital/investors; experienced as part of C teams in early stages
  • M&A due diligence and deal analysis with a strong forensic background -- able to identify irregularities or improper accounting methods/valuations (resulting in a lower purchase price/or identifying reasons to walk away from the table

I enjoy being part of a team that works to solve big challenges and create solutions while staying focused on today (tactical), as well as tomorrow (strategic). I favor tools including risk assessments, after-action assessments, and contingency planning, which drive open communication of ideas, innovation and eliminate complacency.

I joined the Florida CFO Group in 2020 with over 30 years of experience in management and financial leadership as a CFO, COO, and business consultant. I earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Detroit College of Business and have an active CPA license (MI). I am co-director of Florida FOB, SEAL Future Foundation and am also a co-founder of Victory Strategies (a boutique leadership training group).
