For companies in financial distress, restructuring to stabilize financial and operational performance calls for facing problems head-on and rapid change for a successful turnaround.

I have worked with start-ups to Fortune 100 companies to overcome their most challenging problems. Each company presents unique challenges and opportunities, and I enjoy working with my clients to:

  • Quickly turn their business around
  • Improve profitability
  • Implement a cash flow management plan
  • Renegotiate with their bank
  • Restructure debt obligations
  • Prepare their business for sale
  • Identify potential buyers
  • Strengthen their management team
  • Recruit new talent
  • Identify and execute on mergers and acquisitions

I have over 25 years of financial leadership experience as a general manager and chief operations officer, chief financial officer, chief executive, and consultant with startup, public, and private companies. Since 2014 I have been a business consultant and served as interim GM and COO for individual clients. Each of my clients has benefited from improved operational efficiencies that increased profitability, restructured debt to improve operating cash flows and a disciplined and quantitative approach to decision making. I have personally led or delivered the following:

  • Responsible for all operational functions – finance, IT, HR, facilities, logistics, and customer service for a $50 million privately-held distributor of lumber and hardwood products, including migration of the business’ enterprise software to the cloud.
  • Accomplished profitability targets within 12 months for a $40 million privately-owned provider of marketing and financial communications services, implementing a strategy to enhance product offerings by re-engineering the production process to improve customer retention and grow sales.
  • Founded, grew, and sold a $20 million company providing direct marketing services to Fortune 100/500 companies. Grew team from two to 18 employees, annual sales from $200,000 to $20+ million that later sold to a Fortune 100 Company.

As an experienced executive, creative thinker, and problem solver, I enjoy helping management achieve positive and sustainable results. I welcome the opportunity to learn more about my client’s goals, challenges, and working with them to achieve their vision for the future of the organization. My expertise includes:

  • Cashflow management and cash generation
  • Improving bottom-line profitability
  • Control of receivables
  • Restructuring of debt or renegotiation of payments
  • Payables as a source of cash
  • Sales growth strategies
  • Crisis management
  • Meeting and negotiating with banks, financial institutions, vendors, and landlords
  • Identifying non-profitable business sectors or customers
  • Employee issues in union and non-union environments
